Dating back to the 17th century, the magical gardens of Kilmacurragh, County Wicklow are particularly notable for the number of women involved in their development across more than 300 years. Current head gardener Seamus O’Brien will talk about these pioneering female gardeners with RobertO’Byrne, and show how during the 19th and early 20th century Kilmacurragh became the first place where many non-native species were introduced to Ireland.
