The Irish Georgian Society invites you to the opening of Ink and Outrage: 18th Century Satirical Prints in London and Dublin at the Driehaus Museum. Sponsored in part by the Irish Georgian Society, the exhibition explores political satire in Georgian-era England and Ireland while inviting contemporary dialogue on plagiarism, copyright, and international collaboration.

Ink and Outrage: 18th Century Satirical Prints in London and Dublin

Ink and Outrage examines the juxtaposition between English satirical prints and plagiarized works by Irish artists during the Georgian era, when no established copyright law existed for images. By placing the English and Irish prints in dialogue with each other, the exhibition invites viewers to question the value of originality and reproduction in art and print. Featuring over 100 original prints by artists such as James Gilray and Thomas Rowlandson, the exhibition comes to the Driehaus museum following its debut at the Irish Architectural Archive in Dublin.
